DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Call for Papers: <em>Revisiting Richard Rorty</em></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Universidade do Minho\, Braga (Portugal)</strong></p>\n<p><strong>25-26 September\, 2017</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Keynote speaker:</strong> Robert Brandom (University of Pittsburgh)</p>\n<p>We welcome papers and panels submissions for a conference on Richard Rorty to be held in Braga\, Portugal\, at the 25-26 of September. In light of his influential work\, life\, and thought\, the <a target="_blank">Political Theory Group</a> of the University of Minho mark the tenth anniversary of his passing with a conference in his honor.</p>\n<p>Richard Rorty addressed issues widely discussed today\, paying special attention to those at the crossroad between politics and epistemology: truth in times of post-truth\, the possible consequences of a spectatorial academic Left (in <em>Achieving our Country</em>)\, the growing awareness of the importance of language-games in today&rsquo\;s politics\, and so on. Proposals on these topics are welcome\, though we also welcome any subject related to Rorty&rsquo\;s thought: metaphilosophy\, anti-representationalism\, neopragmatism\, religion\, science\, analytic philosophy vs. continental philosophy\, human rights\, feminism\, sentimental education\, the importance of literature\, etc..
