Panamericana)\, </strong><a target="_blank"><strong>fromero@up.edu.mx</strong></a><strong>.&nbsp\; </strong></p>\n<p>The 2017 annual fall meeting of the &ldquo\;Aquinas and the Arabs Project&rdquo\; will take place at the University of Notre Dame. &nbsp\;We invite submissions of paper proposals on topics relating to the project interests\, broadly construed as figures and themes whose study contributes to a better understanding of how philosophical concepts developed in an Islamic and Jewish milieu helped shape Latin Scholasticism. Papers may consider questions of transmission / influence\; or compare thinkers from different medieval traditions\; or deal with just one medieval tradition / thinker on a philosophical topic that is nonetheless of interest in multiple traditions.&nbsp\; In general\, papers should be congenial for an audience consisting of specialists in different areas of Islamic\, Jewish\, and Latin medieval philosophy.&nbsp\; Please send a title and proposal of roughly 300-500 words to the co-organizers\, Therese Scarpelli Cory\, <a href="mailto:tcory@nd.edu">tcory@nd.edu</a> and Francisco Romero Carrasquillo\, <a target="_blank">fromero@up.edu.mx</a>. &nbsp\;Graduate students should additionally send a CV. &nbsp\;Program selection will take place by May 15th.</p>\n<p><strong>Information about papers: </strong>Each paper will be scheduled for a 1-hr slot. &nbsp\;We prefer to leave substantial time for discussion\, so 35-40 min are suggested for presentation time\, leaving 20-25 min for discussion.</p>\n<p>For examples of previous conferences\, see:&nbsp\;http://academic.mu.edu/taylorr/Aquinas_and_the_Arabs/Fall_North_American_Workshops.html</p>
