DESCRIPTION:
One of the most exciting areas in recent philosophy is metaethics &ndash\; the investigation of the origins and basis of moral facts\, moral concepts\, moral knowledge\, and moral language. Metaethics is also one of the most historically-oriented parts of contemporary philosophy\, regularly drawing inspiration from Plato\, Aristotle\, Hume\, and Kant.
\n
The &ldquo\;Lost Voices&rdquo\; project aims to bring more voices into contemporary discussions of the foundations of ethics (metaethics). The conference\, and the resulting volume from Routledge Press\, will include thirteen original papers on non-mainstream thinkers from five continents.&nbsp\;
\n
The conference is free and open to the public. For organizational purposes\, please email Colin Marshall (crmarsh at uw dot edu) if you plan on attending.
