The \;International Summer School on Evolution \;aims to better prepare a future generation for inter- and transdisciplinary evolution research by providing courses on cutting edge research in biological and sociocultural evolutionary sciences for Master\, Doctoral and Postdoctoral students. Emphasis lies on topics that are currently underrepresented in (post)graduate curricula.
\nAbout the Summer School
\nThe School is organized by the \;Applied Evolutionary Epistemology Lab \;of the \;Centre for Philosophy of Science of the University of Lisbon\, in collaboration with \;Ciê\;ncia Viva \;and with the support of the \;John Templeton Foundation.
\nDuring one week\, international experts will teach 9 courses on critical aspects of biological and socio-cultural evolution.
\nAbout the courses
Module 1: EVOLutionary theory
Courses are taught by: Luí\;s Villarreal\, Ilya Të\;mkin\, Frietson Galis.
Module 2: sociocultural Evolution
Courses are taught by Fiona Jordan\, Marion Blute\, Nathalie Gontier &\;
Emanuele Serrelli.
Module 3: philosophy of biology
Courses are taught by Derek Turner\, Fré\;dé\;ric Bouchard\, Michael Ruse.

Target Audience
\nAll courses are taught at a level accessible to Master\, PhD and \;post-doctoral students in the exact\, life\, human and sociocultural \;evolutionary sciences. Students of evolutionary biology\, evolutionary \;developmental biology\, virology\, paleontology\, evolutionary linguistics\, \;evolutionary anthropology\, and philosophy of biology will especially benefit \;from these courses. \;Students will be provided a mandatory reading list which will form the basis \;of lectures and discussions. There are neither examinations nor paper \;assignments.
REGISTRATION FEE
350 euro for the whole week\, regardless the number of courses you chose.

HOW TO ENROLL
You can enroll for a specific module (therefore following a 30-hour course \;on the subject) or you may choose three courses of your specific interest.

Credits
\nStudents from the University of Lisbon are able to receive credits for attending the courses. All other participants will receive official certificates of attendance that will include the suggested credit amount attributed by the university to the enrolled students.
