DESCRIPTION:
2ND CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
\n
International One-Day Conference:&nbsp\;
\n
14th December 2017\; Krakow\, Poland.
\n
The Good Society and its Limits: Contemporary Challenges to Ethico-Political Legitimation and Grounding.&nbsp\;
\n
Contemporary political developments point to a state of polarization between those who embrace the notion of a normative ethical foundation for a good society (&ldquo\;normativists&rdquo\;) and those who regard such ethical normativism as problematic (&ldquo\;realists&rdquo\;). This international one-day conference invites abstracts for papers in social/political philosophy that will approach this issue in ways that go beyond established frameworks of political understanding. Submissions should aim to address the new and emerging challenges to traditional conceptions of how normative forms of political legitimation are arrived at. They should preferably do so in ways that speak directly to contemporary concerns about the social\, political\, economic and technological conditions on which such forms of political legitimation are thought to depend for their ethical validation.
\n
Conference language: English&nbsp\;
\n
Abstracts should be submitted in MS Word (approx. 300-500 words)\, and should offer a reasonable overview of the projected content of the proposed paper. Deadline for submission of abstracts: 15th October 2017 &nbsp\;
\n
Conference fee: 60 GBP\, 75 EUR\, 300 PLN &nbsp\;
\n
Deadline for conference registration and payment:&nbsp\;15th&nbsp\;November 2017
\n
Payment details for bank transfer:
\n
Domestic:
\n
94 2490 0005 0000 4600 9871 1366
\n
International:
\n
IBAN: PL 94 2490 0005 0000 4600 9871 1366
\n
SWIFT / BIC ALBPPLPW
\n
BANK ALIOR SA O/KRAKOW\,&nbsp\;&nbsp\;UL.
