DESCRIPTION:
In 1997\, Quassim Cassam published his first authored book&nbsp\;Self and World\, exploring the connections between self-consciousness\, spatial representations\, and bodily awareness. It is a seminal work in the Kantian-Strawsonian tradition\, which became out of fashion at the beginning of this century. However\, it cannot be denied that there is much to be learned and reconsidered in this work\, and the 20-anniversary seems to be an apt time for us to take stock and further pursue the relevant issues. This event brings together perspectives from different traditions\, including the Kantian\, the phenomenological\, the analytic\, and the empirical. It is an attempt to understand the contemporary relevance of Cassam&rsquo\;s seminal work\, and to explore the future of the Kantian-Strawsonian tradition in general.
\n
Tentative Schedule
\n
9:30 &ndash\; 10:00 Registration (coffee provided)
\n
10:00 &ndash\; 10:10 Introduction
\n
10:10 &ndash\; 11:40 Quassim Cassam
\n
11:40 &ndash\; 11:50 Short Break
\n
11:50 &ndash\; 13:00 Tony Cheng
\n
13:00 &ndash\; 14:00 Lunch
\n
14:00 &ndash\; 15:15 Anil Gomes
\n
15:15 &ndash\; 15:30 Coffee Break
\n
15:30 &ndash\; 16:45 Dan Zahavi
\n
16:45 &ndash\; 16:50 Short Break
\n
16:50 &ndash\; 18:20 Roundtable: Lucy O&rsquo\;Brien\, Louise Richardson\, Bill Brewer\, Thomas Baldwin
\n
18:20 &ndash\; 19:00 Drinks
\n
19:00 &ndash\; 21:00 Dinner&nbsp\;
