DESCRIPTION:<p>Free and open to the public</p>\n<p>Event follows 6:30 reception with book signing after the talk</p>\n<p>In celebration of the publication of the forthcoming book The Inner Philosopher: Conversations on Philosophy's Transformative Power (Dialogue Path Press\, September 2012)\, we will host a public talk with Dr. Lou Marinoff\, best-selling author of Plato Not Prozac! and founding president of the American Philosophical Practitioners Association. Please join us as we explore insights from The Inner Philosopher\, which Dr. Marinoff co-authored with Daisaku Ikeda. Philosophy\, the authors say\, should do nothing less than help us draw forth the inner strength needed to face life's challenges and hardships.</p>\n<p>Lou Marinoff is Professor and Chair of Philosophy at The City College of New York. He is also founding president of the American Philosophical Practitioners Association\, and editor of its journal Philosophical Practice. Dr. Marinoff has authored internationally bestselling books (including Plato Not Prozac!\, translated into twenty-seven languages) that apply philosophy to the resolution of everyday problems. He has collaborated with global think-tanks and leadership forums such as the Aspen Institute\, Biovision (Lyon)\, Festival of Thinkers (Abu Dhabi)\, Horasis (Zurich)\, Strategic Foresight Group (Mumbai)\, and the World Economic Forum (Davos).
