DESCRIPTION:<p>Graham Priest (CUNY) will present "Logical Theory Choice: the Case of Vacuous Counterfactuals" at 11 in Old Quad G10.</p>\n<p>Abstract: When two logical theories compete concerning some matter\, how does one choose which is better? &nbsp\;I take it that the answer is by applying the method of weighted criteria maximisation. &nbsp\;In this talk I will illustrate the method by applying it to the current debate concerning whether counterfactuals with impossible antecedents are vacuously true.</p>\n&nbsp\;
