Workshop: The Borders of Perception

The aim of this workshop is to bring together several of the top scholars in the field to present new work on a range of philosophical topics related to perceptual experience. Some of the topics that will be discussed include:

\n


\n

(a) High-level vs. low-level views about the content of perceptual experience\;

\n

(b) The epistemological implications of cognitive influences on perceptual processes\;

\n

(c) The relationship between theories of experience and different sense modalities\;

\n

(d) Temporal experience and its relationship to (a)-(c).

\n


\n

The workshop has ten sessions\, each of them constituted by a talk delivered by an invited speaker\, followed by a short response given by a commentator and a public Q&\;A. The workshop will be held at The Van Leer Jerusalem Institute and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem on January 16-17\, 2018.
