SUMMARY:Roles and Their Ethics (London)
UID:20260407T231901Z-iCalPlugin-Grails@philevents-web-f5d4878dd-r5qzs
TZID:Europe/London
LOCATION:Venue: International Hall\, University of London\, London\, United Kingdom\, WC1N 1AS
DESCRIPTION:
The various social roles we occupy (FRIEND\, PARENT\, BOSS\, LAWYER\, etc.) shape a great deal of our practical decision-making\, in everyday life or at crucial junctures. This influence is under-acknowledged and poorly understood within contemporary theoretical ethics. An AHRC-funded network project over the past 18 months has been addressing this shortfall in a series of workshops. This is the culmination of that work and the main conference for the project.
\n
All welcome. There is no expectation that you have attended previous workshops. If the peculiar ethical properties of social roles have ever intrigued you\, come along!
\n
There is a small registration fee (GBP 45) to cover catering costs. Registration is simple (it involves sending an email by Sep 20th). Details on this are on the project website\, as is a fuller description of the project goals and themes\, and a schedule\, titles\, and abstracts where we have them.
