DESCRIPTION:<p>Greetings\,</p>\n<p>The philosophy department at Saint Louis University is pleased to send an updated invitation for paper submissions to the 2018 SLU Philosophy Graduate Student Conference (please see attached CFP). The theme of this year&rsquo\;s conference is &ldquo\;The Nature and Character of Self-Consciousness&rdquo\;.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Our keynote speaker is Alva No&euml\; (UC\, Berkeley)\, and we will also be joined by invited guest speaker Elizabeth Schechter (Washington University\, St. Louis).&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The conference will be held on Friday\, March 2 and Saturday\, March 3\, 2018.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>THe firm deadline for submissions is January 8th. Papers should be related to the theme of the conference\, broadly construed (for example\, associated topics could include epistemic problems surrounding self-knowledge\, issues in the study of intersubjectivity\, the threat of self-deception\, neuroscientific and philosophical methodology in the study of self-consciousness\, etc.). Papers should not exceed 3\,000 words in length and should be accompanied by a 150 word abstract. Please prepare papers for blind review.
