UID:20260619T050136Z-iCalPlugin-Grails@philevents-web-bd7db559-gt5qm
TZID:Europe/Berlin
LOCATION:Frankfurt\, Germany
DESCRIPTION:
Co-hosted with the Chair of Transnational Governance\, Technische Universit&auml\;t\, Darmstadt
\n
After a period of neglect\, the concepts of territory and territorial rights receive renewed attention in political philosophy and international relations theory. Who should have territorial rights? Are they private or public? How do groups or individuals come to be the legitimate holders of these rights in a particular territory? What do territorial rights amount to\, in respect to the use of resources and exclusion of outsiders? These questions are now on the agenda of a growing field of research.
\n
As a contribution to these debates\, this workshop will explore the principle of territoriality itself: in which relevant senses should should law and politics remain territoriality bounded in an age of global governance? And how does our answer to this question affect normative\, philosophical and empirical-analytical theories of territoriality? Our workshop will bring together\, into a common discussion\, perspectives from international relations\, political science\, political philosophy and international law. &nbsp\; &nbsp\;
\n
Attendance is free\, but registration is required for organization and catering purposes.Places are limited\, and will be assigned on a first come\, first served basis.&nbsp\; &nbsp\;
\n
In order to register\, please contact Ms Val&eacute\;rie Bignon by October 5th\, at:&nbsp\;bignon@em.uni-frankfurt.de &nbsp\; &nbsp\;
\n
For further information and complete programme\, please go to:
