DESCRIPTION:<p>The University of North Carolina at Charlotte Graduate Philosophical Union\, in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy and The Center for Applied Ethics\, is proud to issue a call for papers for the inaugural meeting of the Southeast Conference of Applied Philosophy. The topic of this gathering will be &ldquo\;Philosophy in Urgent Times.&rdquo\; We invite submissions from any related philosophical discipline as well as relevant theoretical contributions from other disciplines. Submissions will speak to the role and application of philosophy in our modern lived context and contend specifically with an urgent social/political issue of our day and age. Topic areas might include\, in no particular order: climate change\, activism\, critical race theory\, oppression studies\, critical disability theory\, queer theory\, decolonial/coloniality studies\, and any other related work.</p>
