The Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) chapters of Columbia\, The New School\, NYU\, Rutgers\, and The Graduate Center\, CUNY\, invite submissions to NY-MAPWorks\, a spring 2018 workshop series that will feature the work of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows from groups underrepresented in academic philosophy.
\nThe Format:
\nThe series will alternate locations in New York City (see below for full list of dates and locations). Each workshop will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and consist of two talks\, one by a presenter from one of the organizing institutions\, and one by a presenter from an external institution. Each presenter will have a 50-minute session consisting of a 25-30 minute talk and a 20-25 minute Q&\;A. The workshop will conclude with a reception.

\nSubmission Guidelines:
\nTo apply\, please compete the following by December 20\, 2017:
\n1) Send an extended abstract of ~1\,000 words (.pdf or .docx)\, prepared for blind review (please use the title of your abstract as the pdf/docx file name)\, suitable for a 25-30 minute presentation to a general philosophical audience to nymapshop@gmail.com.
\n2) Provide your contact information by completing this google form.
\nWho Can Apply:
\nApplications will only be accepted from individuals from groups underrepresented in the philosophy discipline\, including individuals underrepresented on the basis of gender\, race\, sexual orientation\, class\, and disability.
\nTravel and Housing:
\nAt this moment\, we can guarantee a $200 subsidy for travel costs. Housing with a graduate student can also be arranged.
