The Presidential Address marks the official inauguration of the 105th \;President of the Aristotelian Society: Professor Sarah Broadie.  \;

\n

Professor Broadie is in the Moral Philosophy Department at the University \;of St Andrews. She has previously worked in philosophy departments at \;Princeton\, Rutgers\, Yale\, the University of Texas at Austin\, and Edinburgh \;University. Her publications include \;Nature\, Change\, and Agency in \;Aristotle¹\;s Physics \;(1982)\; \;Passage and Possibility: a study of \;Aristotle's modal concepts \;(1982)\; \;Ethics with Aristotle \;(1991)\; \;Aristotle\, Nicomachean Ethics: Commentary\, with translation by Christopher \;Rowe (2002)\; \; \;Aristotle and Beyond\, Essays on Metaphysics and Ethics \;(2007)\; \;Nature and Divinity in Plato¹\;s Timaeus \;(2011)\; \;Philoponus on \;Aristotle\, Physics 4. 10-14 (on Time)\, translation and notes (2012). She \;is a Fellow of the British Academy\, the Royal Society of Edinburgh\, the \;American Academy of Arts and Sciences\, and the Academia Europaea.  \;

The Presidential Address will be chaired by the Society's outgoing \;President: Professor Marie McGinn (UEA/York).
