DESCRIPTION:<p>Reflecting the multidisciplinary approaches to the study of pilgrimage and landscape the workshop welcomes proposals for papers and panels from a diverse range of disciplines\, including Anthropology\, Religious Studies\, Social Geography\, Heritage Studies and Philosophy of Religion to discuss how pilgrimage routes are created\, represented and transformed. Topics of interest include\, but are not limited to\, the following: &nbsp\;</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creation\, re-creation and re-appropriation of pilgrimage routes in contemporary society&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>&ldquo\;Secular&rdquo\; pilgrimages &nbsp\;</li>\n<li>Media representations of pilgrimages</li>\n<li>Pilgrimage and movement through the landscape</li>\n<li>Landscapes and identity</li>\n<li>Recent theoretical and methodological trends in studies of pilgrimage &nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Interdisciplinary papers on these topics in an East Asian context are particularly welcome.
