DESCRIPTION:<p>Early Modern&mdash\;Saint Louis (EM-STL) is now accepting submissions for our April 20-21\, 2018 conference to be held in <strong>downtown Saint Louis</strong>.</p>\n<p>Submissions are welcome on any aspect of Modern philosophy\, roughly understood as the period from Montaigne through Mill. Submissions on British philosophy after Hume are particularly encouraged.</p>\n<p>-</p>\n<p><strong>Annemarie Butler</strong> (Iowa State University) will give the keynote presentation\, entitled &ldquo\;Locke and Hume on the Demonstrability of God's Existence.&rdquo\;</p>\n<p>The conference will include a panel on teaching Early Modern philosophy\, led by <strong>Julie Walsh</strong> (Wellesley College).</p>\n<p>-</p>\n<p>Please prepare 300-500 word abstracts for blind review and submit them through Easy Chair at http://em-stl.net/submit.</p>\n<p>Papers should be suitable for a 25 minute presentation\, followed by 30 minutes of Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p>The deadline for submissions is January 25\, 2018. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by February 18.</p>
