DESCRIPTION:<p>CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS (Cologne\, Deadline: April 15\, 2018) &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Venue and Date:</p>\n<p>The workshop &ldquo\;The Significance of Higher-Order Evidence&rdquo\; takes place at the University of Cologne (Germany) on September 21\, 2018. It is a satellite workshop of&nbsp\;GAP.10. (GAP.10 ends one day earlier on&nbsp\;September 20\, 2018.)</p>\n<p><br>Purpose of the Workshop:</p>\n<p>The purpose of the workshop is to bring together epistemologists who work on higher-order evidence. We are especially interested in debates&nbsp\;concerning:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>conceptions of higher-order evidence</li>\n<li>epistemic akrasia</li>\n<li>evidence of evidence</li>\n<li>higher-order evidence and deductive reasoning</li>\n<li>higher-order evidence and defeaters</li>\n<li>higher-order evidence and disagreement</li>\n<li>higher-order evidence and suspension of judgement</li>\n<li>higher-order evidence\, propositional and doxastic justification</li>\n<li>modeling higher-order evidence &nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Invited Speakers:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kevin Dorst&nbsp\;(MIT) together with&nbsp\;Branden Fitelson&nbsp\;(Northeastern)</li>\n<li>Maria Lasonen-Aarnio&nbsp\;(Helsinki)</li>\n<li>Thomas Raleigh&nbsp\;(Bochum)</li>\n<li>Timothy Williamson&nbsp\;(Oxford)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Organizers:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anna-Maria A. If you want to give a talk\, please submit an&nbsp\;extended anonymous abstract of not more than 1500 words (PDF) and a short anonymous&nbsp\;abstract of not more than 150 words (PDF) to&nbsp\;Kathrin Hommel (<a target="_blank">kathrin.hommel@sbg.ac.at</a>)&nbsp\;by April 15\, 2018 (11:59 pm\,&nbsp\;UTC+1).
