UID:20260611T142200Z-iCalPlugin-Grails@philevents-web-bd7db559-gt5qm
TZID:Europe/Brussels
LOCATION:Université Libre de Bruxelles Avenue Franklin Roosevelt 17\,\, Brussels\, Belgium\, 1050
DESCRIPTION:
Speaker: Yukiko Kuwayama (University of Hildesheim) &nbsp\;March 14th 2018 at 2&ndash\;4pm at ULB-CIERL (Room: Roosevelt 17.4.004)&nbsp\;
\n

\n
The speaker will introduce a part of the main thesis in her doctoral project. The focus of her dissertation is to point out a possible connection between current debates in the philosophy of feelings (or what is called &ldquo\;Philosophie der Gef&uuml\;hle&rdquo\; in Germany) and the concept of Ki (Qi)\, a Sino-Japanese term for breath\, sense\, feeling\, atmosphere\, mood\, smell\, intention\, etc. The concept of Ki has a broad and flexible range of meanings\, including its transformative character between materiality and immateriality. It can provide a new insight into the current discussions on the phenomneology of feeling. For more info\, contact Takeshi at Takeshi.Morisato@ulb.ac.be.&nbsp\;
