Perelman and Olbrechts-Tytecas propose a&nbsp\;New Rhetoric&nbsp\;based on a resumption of classical rhetoric and dialectics and opposed to Cartesian rationalism\, while Toulmin frames not only a theory of argumentation\, but also a revision of logic as a science.
\n
This issue of Arkete aims to explore the New Rhetoric and the contemporary theory of argumentation from different perspectives. Possible topics:
\n
- Argumentative rationality
\n
- Reasonableness and normativity
\n
- &nbsp\;Argumentative Schemes
\n
-&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Theories of Argumentation for Education
\n
- Rhetoric and Informal Logic
\n
- Discourse Analysis&nbsp\;&nbsp\;
\n
Please note that the above is a *non-exhaustive* list of possible topics. Any paper that doesn&rsquo\;t make it into the 2018 issue will automatically be considered for the 2019 issue\, and so forth in subsequent years.
\n
Papers\, which&nbsp\;will be&nbsp\;accepted&nbsp\;in both&nbsp\;English&nbsp\;and Italian\,&nbsp\;must be original and not submitted elsewhere. Each submission should include a separate title page containing the author(s) contact details\, a brief abstract and list of five keywords.&nbsp\;All papers will be subject to double-blind peer-review.
