DESCRIPTION:<p>The Department of Philosophy and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Beirut will be holding the first international&nbsp\;conference&nbsp\;on&nbsp\;Moral&nbsp\;Psychology&nbsp\;in Lebanon and quite possibly in the Arab Middle East.&nbsp\;We hope to bring together scholars from both&nbsp\;psychology&nbsp\;and philosophy to address very timely questions such as: What accounts for our&nbsp\;moral&nbsp\;judgments? What is the basis of disagreements in&nbsp\;morality? What can disorders such as psychopathy and sociopathology tell us about&nbsp\;morality? What&nbsp\;moral&nbsp\;lessons can we draw from contemporary social\, cognitive\, and evolutionary&nbsp\;psychology&nbsp\;as well as neuroscience? Are there any skills associated with being a&nbsp\;moral&nbsp\;person? What can&nbsp\;psychology&nbsp\;tell us about the best forms of punishment?</p>
