New deadline for the submission of abstracts for contributed papers and symposia: June 1st\, 2018.
\nThe \;Spanish Society of \;Logic\, Methodology \;and \;Philosophy of Science \;(SLMFCE) and the \;Facultad de Filosofí\;a UNED \;organize the IX conference of the society to be held in Madrid from 13th \;to 16th \;November 2018.
\nThe conference will host the third edition of the \;Lullius Lectures\, which will be in charge of Prof. \;Nancy Cartwright \;(Professor of Philosophy at Durham University and a Distinguished Professor at the University of California\, San Diego (UCSD)) (http://www.profnancycartwright.com/). \;

\nContributed \;papers \;and symposia:
\nWe invite submissions for both contributed \;papers \;and proposals for symposia (in English or Spanish) to the following sections:
\nA Logic\, History \;and \;Philosophy of Logic\, and Argumentation
\nB Philosophy of Language
\nC Philosophy of Mind and Epistemology
\nD Philosophy and Methodology of Science
\nE History of Science
\nF Science\, Technology \;and \;Society
\nExtended Deadline for the submission of abstracts for contributed \;papers \;and symposia: June 1st\, 2018.
\nSubmissions \;of contributed \;papers \;should have no more than 1000 words and should be prepared for blind refereeing. A short abstract up to 200 words must be introduced in the EasyChair system.
\nSubmissions for symposia should include a brief abstract for each participant&rsquo\;s talk (without author names\, max. 1000 words) and justification of its interest (max. 500 words). Also\, a short abstract of the symposia (max. 200 words) must be introduced in the EasyChair system.
\n\nThe steering committee of the society will organize a symposium on Nancy Cartwright&rsquo\;s work. \;
\n\nIf the submission is intended to be for the symposium on Nancy Cartwright\, this should be indicated at the moment of submitting the paper.
\nThe allocated time for delivering contributed \;papers \;at the conference will be 30 minutes\, discussion included. The allocated time for symposia at the conference will be 2 hours with at most 5 \;participants. \;
\nAbstracts for contributed \;papers \;and symposia are to be submitted electronically at \;https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=9slmfce
\nAuthors will be informed about the acceptance of submissions before the end of July 2018.
\nDeadline for the submission of the final version of accepted abstracts (in order to be published in the electronic proceedings): 30 September 2018. The final version should be sent in Word or LaTeX format\, along with a PDF file.
\nIn order to promote the work of young researchers\, the SLFMCE will provide financial support for the two best contributions submitted by young researchers. Candidates must fulfill the conditions listed below: \;
(a) applicants must be master students or \;PhD \;students\, or to have a doctoral dissertation read after the May 15th\, 2012. \;
(b) applicants must be members of the \;SLMFCE \;when the contribution is submitted.
(c) applicants must get the highest rank for their submitted contributions at the blind process of refereeing.
(d) applicants must not have been previously awarded \;with \;this grant. \; \;
Funds are intended to cover the registration fee\, travel and accommodation expenses (maximum 500&euro\; for each winner of the prize). TheSLMFCE \;will provide a certificate to the winners of the grant.
\nIn the event more than two communication proposals are qualified as excellent\, the Steering Committee will decide the grant recipients in accordance with the quality of their contributions.
