DESCRIPTION:<p><strong><em>Fichte and the Methods of Transcendental Philosophy</em></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Eleventh Biennial Meeting of the North American Fichte Society</strong></p>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Laval University\, Qu&eacute\;bec\, Canada</strong></p>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p><strong>May 16-19\, 2012</strong></p>\n<p>The Eleventh Biennial Meeting of the&nbsp\;<a title="About">North American Fichte Society</a>&nbsp\;will be held at the&nbsp\;<a target="_blank">Universit&eacute\; Laval&nbsp\;</a>in Qu&eacute\;bec city\, Canada\, from Wednesday May 16 through Saturday May 20\, 2012.&nbsp\; Local arrangements will be coordinated by Professor Luc Langlois (Universit&eacute\; Laval) and Claude Pich&eacute\; (Universit&eacute\; de Montr&eacute\;al).</p>\n<p>The conference will be entirely devoted to exploring questions of transcendental method and methodology as these apply to Fichte&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;<em>Wissenschaftslehre.</em>&nbsp\;Historical\, comparative\, and systematic approaches to this theme are all welcome.</p>\n<p>As is the practice of the North American Fichte Society\, this event is open to all interested Fichte scholars\, both in North America and elsewhere.&nbsp\; The official languages of this conference will be English and French.&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Please send paper proposals\, including titles and brief descriptions of contents to Daniel Breazeale\, Department of Philosophy\, University of Kentucky\, Lexington\, KY 40508&nbsp\; USA&nbsp\;<a href="mailto:breazeal@uky.edu">breazeal@uky.edu</a>&nbsp\;<strong>no later than September 1\, 2011.</strong></p>\n<p>Conference papers should have a&nbsp\;<strong>maximum reading time of 30 minutes</strong>. As in the past\, we intend to publish a volume of selected papers from this conference.&nbsp\; Though it may not prove possible to publish all of the conference papers\, we nevertheless request that anyone presenting a paper formally grant the North American Fichte Society the &ldquo\;right of first refusal&rdquo\; for the publication of the same.</p>\n<p><strong>Please note that no funds will be available from the conference organizers to support either travel costs or living expenses of the participants</strong>.&nbsp\; However\, an official &ldquo\;letter of invitation&rdquo\; for the purposes of obtaining travel support from one&rsquo\;s own institution\, can easily be arranged.&nbsp\; Further details concerning lodging\, program\, etc. will be forthcoming at a later date.</p>
