DESCRIPTION:
The Society for Applied Philosophy (UK) was founded in 1982 with the \n aim of promoting philosophical study and research that has a direct \nbearing on areas of practical concern. It arose from an increasing \nawareness that many topics of public debate are capable of being \nilluminated by the critical\, analytic approach characteristic of \nphilosophy\, and by direct consideration of questions of value. These \ntopics come from a number of different areas of social life - law\, \npolitics\, economics\, science\, technology\, medicine and education are \namong the most obvious. The purpose of the SAP is to foster and promote \n philosophical work that is intended to make a constructive contribution\n to problems in these areas. It does so through events\, conferences\, \nand lecture programmes.
\n
Call for papers

\n
Open themed event
\n
The Annual Conference 2012 is SAP&rsquo\;s thirtieth anniversary conference and includes a discussion board on the nature of applied philosophy.&nbsp\; \nThe event will be an open themed applied philosophy conference (papers \nwill be considered from the full range of topics in applied \nphilosophy).
