DESCRIPTION:
Merleau-Ponty at the Coll&egrave\;ge de France: Expression\, Intercorporeity\, Nature
\n
In the last twenty years\, the international perception of Merleau-Ponty&rsquo\;s work has undergone a radical change thanks to the publication of the preparatory manuscripts for his Coll&egrave\;ge de France lectures. An analysis of these materials in connection with the&nbsp\;Visible and the Invisibleshows that if finished\, the positive part of the Merleau-Ponty&rsquo\;s last work would stand on a firm basis of phenomenologically oriented studies of very concrete materials\, much like the&nbsp\;Phenomenology of Perception.&nbsp\;This conference aims to provide a space to discuss the interconnection between Merleau-Ponty&rsquo\;s lectures from the fifties on the one hand\, and his published writings on the other. Authors are invited to submit a proposal linking Merleau-Ponty&rsquo\;s concrete descriptions in the notes for the Coll&egrave\;ge de France lectures to his main philosophical concepts and innovative ontological categories. In particular\, we aim to explore Merleau-Ponty&rsquo\;s contribution to our understanding of corporeity\, intersubjectivity\, language and expression\, Nature\, and rational thought with regard to its historical and dynamic character. Beyond this framework\, we expect the submissions to elucidate the relationships between Merleau-Ponty&rsquo\;s thought and his philosophical and non-philosophical inspirers (e.g.\, Freud\, Gurwitsch\, Schilder)\, and successors.
\n
Conference Registration
\n
Conference registration is free of charge.
\n
Please register as soon as possible via email:&nbsp\;merleau.ponty.conf@gmail.com
\n
Please include the following information: name\, affiliation\, address\, e-mail\, phone number.
\n
Abstract
\n
Abstract up to 500 words should be written in English and include: title\, author affiliation\, email\, clearly formulated philosophical problem\, bibliography.
