DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Fourteenth Biennial Meeting of the</strong> <strong>North American Fichte Society</strong></p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>CALL FOR PAPERS</strong></p>\n<p><strong>May 22-25\, 2019</strong></p>\n\n<p><strong>Xavier University\, Cincinnati\, Ohio</strong></p>\n<p>The Fourteenth&nbsp\;Biennial Meeting of the North American Fichte Society will be held on the campus of&nbsp\;Xavier&nbsp\;University in&nbsp\;Cincinnati\, Ohio\,&nbsp\;beginning the morning of Wednesday\, May&nbsp\;22\, 2019 and concluding the evening of Saturday\, May 25\, 2019.&nbsp\; Local arrangements will be&nbsp\;coordinated by Prof. Gabriel Gottlieb of&nbsp\;Xavier&nbsp\;University.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This event&nbsp\;will be devoted&nbsp\;entirely to&nbsp\;Fichte's unpublished lectures on&nbsp\;<em>Wissenschaftslehre&nbsp\;</em>from 1804.&nbsp\; There are three versions of these lectures\, the best known of which is the second series (April-June\, 1804)\, which is also the version translated by Walter E. Wright as&nbsp\;<em>The Science of Knowing: Fichte's 1804 Lectures on the&nbsp\;Wissenschaftslehre&nbsp\;</em>(SUNY\, 2005).&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Papers dealing with any aspect of the 1804 Wissenschaftslehre on its own or in relationship to other works by Fichte or other philosophers will be welcomed.</p>\n<p>As is the practice of the North American Fichte Society\, this event is open to all interested Fichte scholars\, both in North America and elsewhere.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;The official language of this conference will be English.&nbsp\;Please send paper proposals\, including titles and brief descriptions of contents to Daniel&nbsp\;Breazeale\, Department of Philosophy\, University of Kentucky\, Lexington\, KY 40508&nbsp\;&nbsp\;USA breazeal@uky.edu>&nbsp\;<strong>no later than November 15\, 2018.</strong></p>\n<p>Conference papers should have a&nbsp\;<strong>maximum reading time of 30 minutes</strong>. As in the past\, we intend to publish a volume of selected papers from this conference.&nbsp\;Though it may not prove possible to publish all of the conference papers\, we nevertheless request that anyone presenting a paper formally grant the North American Fichte Society the "right of first refusal" for the publication of the same.</p>\n<p>Please note that no funds will be available from the conference organizers to support either travel costs or living expenses of the participants.&nbsp\; However\, an official "letter of invitation" for the purposes of obtaining travel support from one's own institution\, can easily be arranged.&nbsp\; Further details concerning lodging\, program\, etc. will be forthcoming at a later date.</p>\n<p>For more information and updates: <a target="_blank">https://www.fichtesociety.org/</a></p>
