DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Papers for this year's International Society of Military Ethics Conference are invited to explore the issues surrounding the military use of space</strong>.&nbsp\; Send&nbsp\;one-page abstract proposals&nbsp\;to program co-chairs Dr. Nikki Coleman and Joel Brown at&nbsp\;<a target="_blank">ncoleman@iinet.net.au</a>&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;<a target="_blank">joel.brown@usafa.edu</a>.&nbsp\; <strong>Proposals/abstracts are due by 15 January 2019.</strong>&nbsp\; Participants will be notified of the results of peer review before 1 March 2019.</p>\n<p>Responding to presidential direction\, the US Department of Defense is studying ways to launch Space Force as a new department of military endeavor. &nbsp\;This fact adds urgency to what many have long realized:&nbsp\; As a developing warfighting domain\, space warfare needs to be treated with the same ethical scrutiny as all other domains of conflict.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;This conference offers an opportunity to bring together ethicists from around the world to debate questions about the ethics of space usage and warfare.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The event will be held at the Univesity of Colorado\, Colorado Springs <strong><u>June 29-30\, 2019.</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u><br></u></strong></p>\n<p><br> </p>
