The topic &ldquo\;Intelligence: Human\, Animal\, Machine&rdquo\; was chosen to inspire paper submissions from diverse disciplines and philosophical approaches. We share a few research questions to represent this range\; however\, it&rsquo\;s not required or expected that papers specifically address any of these questions:
\n
\n
Is there anything unique about human intelligence?
\n
What is the relationship between consciousness and intelligence?
\n
What are the ontological and/or epistemic criteria for comparing intelligence?
\n
To what extent do the laws of nature constrain intelligence? Is it limitless?
\n
Is all intelligence epistemic?
\n
How can we teach self-driving cars to drive like humans? Or is it possible to program morality?
\n
What are the moral considerations surrounding the development of artificial intelligence?
\n
What are the methodological concerns with researching animal cognition?
\n
\n
Papers should be no longer than 3\,500 words. Submissions should be prepared for blind review\, and submitted with a separate cover sheet including name\, institutional affiliation\, contact information\, paper title\, word count\, and an abstract of no more than 300 words. They can be sent to umslphilosophersforum@gmail.com. All submissions are due by January 15\, 2019.
