DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>The International Network for Economic Method</strong>\, in collaboration with TINT &ndash\; Centre for Philosophy of Social Science\, University of Helsinki\, is delighted to announce that the 14th biannual conference will take place <strong>in Helsinki\, 19-21 August\, 2019</strong>. We welcome proposals for contributed papers and symposia in all areas of the philosophy and methodology of economics. We particularly encourage submissions that combine philosophy and methodology of economics with other perspectives on studying economics offered\, for instance\, by history and sociology of economics\, ethics\, political philosophy\, as well as by feminist approaches and social ontology. &nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Keynote speakers:</strong> &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Beatrice Cherrier (CNRS &amp\; THEMA\, University of Cergy Pontoise)</p>\n<p>Tiago Mata (University College London)</p>\n<p>Diana Strassmann (Rice University) &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>In addition\, we are happy to announce that on the 18th of August 2019 (the day before the INEM conference begins)\, there will be two workshops: &nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Women in Economics: Past and Future</strong>. The workshop is organized by the Young Scholar Initiative Philosophy of Economics group and will take place on the morning of the 18th of August 2019. &nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>JEM and Economic Methodology: Past\, Present\, and Future</strong>. The workshop is organized by the editors of the Journal of Economic Methodology and will take place in the afternoon of the 18th of August 2019. Attendance to both workshops is free\, but registration is required. Information about the workshops&rsquo\; programmes and how to register will be posted soon at: https://www.helsinki.fi/en/conferences/inem-2019/pre-conference-workshops. &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Abstract submission &nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Contributed papers:</strong> Abstracts for contributed papers should be 550-650 words. Please prepare your abstract for anonymous review. Submit your abstract through Easychair: &nbsp\;https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=inem2019. In the field &ldquo\;Other information and files&rdquo\; please select contributed paper as the submission type. &nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Symposia</strong>: A symposium is composed of three or four papers that address a shared theme. Symposium proposals should contain a short summary of the topic and motivation of the symposium (450-500 words) accompanied by short abstracts of the symposium papers (3-4 papers per symposium\, 450-500 words each). Please prepare your submission for anonymous review. Submit your symposium proposal through Easychair: &nbsp\;https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=inem2019.
