DESCRIPTION:This is a call for abstracts for the fifth biennial New Orleans Workshop on Agency and Responsibility (NOWAR 5)\, to be held in New Orleans\, LA at the Aloft Hotel on November 14-16\, 2019. Abstracts are welcome on any topic having to do with agency and/or responsibility. Perspectives beyond just those from moral philosophy &mdash\; including psychology\, legal theory\, neuroscience\, economics\, metaphysics\, and more &mdash\; are quite welcome. See also&nbsp\;<a href="https://sites.google.com/site/dshoemakr/nowar">David Shoemaker&rsquo\;s personal website</a>&nbsp\;for information.)\n&nbsp\;\nAbstracts are due no later than&nbsp\;<strong>NOON (CST) on March 15\, 2019</strong>. They should be no more than 3 double-spaced pages (ordinary font and margins\, etc.)\, be saved as a PDF file\,&nbsp\;<em><strong>and be prepared for anonymous review</strong></em>. Send them by&nbsp\;e-mail to David Shoemaker:&nbsp\;dshoemak@tulane.edu</a>. A program committee will evaluate submissions\, and decisions will be communicated by early May. The authors of all accepted abstracts will be expected to provide drafts of their essays for distribution to NOWAR attendees four weeks prior to the workshop\, present their ideas at the workshop\, and then commit the final versions of their essays (subject to external review) to the seventh volume of&nbsp\;<em>Oxford Studies in Agency and Responsibility</em>&nbsp\;(which is expected to be published in mid-2021). Those who presented at the fourth NOWAR (in 2017) are ineligible to present at the fifth (in 2019).\n&nbsp\;\nThe 2019 workshop\, sponsored by the generous support of the Murphy Institute at Tulane University\, will have&nbsp\;three&nbsp\;keynote speakers:&nbsp\;<strong>Pamela Hieronymi (UCLA)\, Richard Moran (Harvard)\, and Candace Vogler (Chicago)</strong>. To provide more discussion and networking time at the workshop\, and to meet OUP&rsquo\;s new lower page limit demands for the&nbsp\;<em>Oxford Studies</em>&nbsp\;volumes\, there will be no more than ten papers in total presented at this year&rsquo\;s workshop\, which means that no more than seven submitted abstracts can be chosen for presentation.\n&nbsp\;
