DESCRIPTION:<p>University of Toronto at Scarborough\, Association of Philosophy Students 2019 Conference:</p>\n<p>Call for Papers</p>\n<p>Topic: Ancient Philosophy\, including but not limited to Ancient Greek &amp\; Roman Philosophy</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>Keynote Speaker: Mark Johnstone of McMaster University</p>\n<p>Submission Deadline: February\, 1st\, 2019</p>\n<p>Conference Date: March 16th\, 2019</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>The University of Toronto Scarborough&rsquo\;s Annual International Undergraduate Philosophy Conference showcases undergraduate work in philosophy. We will be selecting four papers for presentation at this year&rsquo\;s conference. The papers are selected through a blind review process by University of Toronto undergraduates at the Scarborough Campus. If selected you will be expected to present a 20-30 minute talk followed by comments from a UTSC student and a Q&amp\;A period.</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>The theme for this year's conference is Ancient Philosophy. Mark Johnstone of McMaster University will be our keynote speaker. He will be presenting a paper on Aristotle&rsquo\;s conception of the soul. We would also like to stress that the topic includes but is not limited to Ancient Greek &amp\; Roman Philosophy and we encourage the submission of work based on non-western sources.</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>APS also offers students up to $500.00 CAD in expense reimbursements if they are selected for the conference!</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>The APS is committed to maintaining an inclusive atmosphere for the duration of our conference. Please contact us at utsc.aps@gmail.comfor any accessibility related questions or concerns.</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p>GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES</p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Include: (1) author&rsquo\;s name\, (2) paper title\, (3) institution\, (4) mailing address\, (5) telephone number in the body of the email\, and (6) email address.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Papers must be submitted with a cover page including only the title\, and abstract the paper. Please do not place any of your personal information in the body of the paper\, as your paper will be subject to blind review.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Submissions must be titled and be accompanied by a concise abstract introducing the author&rsquo\;s topic and summarizing the paper&rsquo\;s central thesis\, which should be around 150 words.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Submissions should be under 3\,000 words not including the abstract.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Acceptable document formats for submissions include PDF\, and DOCX.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Please email all submissions to utsc.philconf.submissions@gmail.com.</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Please email any questions or concerns to utsc.aps@gmail.com.</p>\n</li>\n</ol>
