DESCRIPTION:<p><u><strong>Early Modern&mdash\;Saint Louis (EM-STL) is now accepting submissions for our May 3-4\, 2019 conference to be held in downtown Saint Louis</strong></u>.</p>\n<p>Details\, past programs and other information can be found at http://em-stl.net</p>\n<p>Submissions are welcome on any aspect of Modern philosophy\, roughly understood as the period from Montaigne through Mill. Submissions on British philosophy after Hume are particularly encouraged.</p>\n<p>*</p>\n<p><strong>Julie Walsh</strong> (Wellesley College) will be facilitating a panel on the topics of race\, gender\, and disability in early modern philosophy. Submissions that treat these topics will be given special consideration for that panel.</p>\n<p><strong>David Landy</strong> (San Francisco State University) will give the keynote presentation\, entitled &ldquo\;Kant\, Inferentialism\, and the Question of Perception.&rdquo\;</p>\n<p><strong>Annemarie Butler</strong> (Iowa State University)\, <strong>Tim Black</strong> (CSU Northridge)\, and <strong>Alison Peterman</strong> (University of Rochester) will present a panel on Locke\, Hume and Shepherd on body and externality.</p>\n<p>*</p>\n<p><strong>Please prepare 300-500 word abstracts for anonymous review and submit them through Easy Chair at http://em-stl.net/submit</strong></p>\n<p>Papers should be suitable for a 25 minute presentation\, followed by 30 minutes of Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p>*</p>\n<p><strong>The deadline for submissions is February 1st\, 2019.</strong> Applicants will be notified of acceptance by February 18.</p>\n<p>Please direct questions to rfry@siue.edu</p>
