DESCRIPTION:<p>Call for Papers &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; 10th Braga Meetings&nbsp\;on Ethics and Political Philosophy&nbsp\;<br><strong>University of Minho<br></strong>Braga\, Portugal <strong>June 13-15\, 2019</strong> <strong>The Braga Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophy</strong>&nbsp\;have established a reputation for providing scholars with an excellent opportunity to present both advanced and exploratory work to a welcoming audience. Graduate students\, junior researchers and senior scholars are welcome to submit their work.&nbsp\;<br><br>This event is organized by the&nbsp\;<strong>CENTRE FOR ETHICS\, POLITICS AND SOCIETY (CEPS)</strong>\,&nbsp\;<strong>University of Minho (Braga)</strong>. &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; <strong>Proposals are welcome.</strong> Our Meeting combines two different modalities.&nbsp\; You can either submit your abstract to the&nbsp\;<strong><em>General Session</em></strong>&nbsp\;or to the&nbsp\;<strong><em>Special Session</em></strong>\, not both.<br><br>Our&nbsp\;<em><strong>General Session</strong></em>&nbsp\;welcomes proposals in any area of moral\, political\, or legal philosophy and in normative political theory.&nbsp\;Selected submissions to these session will be organized in panels in the according to thematic affinity.<br><br><strong>Special Session:&nbsp\;"Revisiting&nbsp\;<em>The Idea of Human Rights</em>"</strong><br><br>On this tenth edition of our Meetings we will also celebrate the tenth anniversary of Charles Beitz&rsquo\;s&nbsp\;<em><strong>The Idea of Human Rights</strong></em><em>.</em>For this remarkable occasion we will host a special session focused on the assessment of the practical/political turn on human rights with Charles Beitz and a selected group of keynote speakers. As part of this research project we plan to publish a selection of papers presented therein for a special issue of a peer-review academic journal.
