DESCRIPTION:<p>The&nbsp\;Centre for Philosophy\, Politics and Economics&nbsp\;at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands is giving its annual PPE&nbsp\;Winter&nbsp\;School on &lsquo\;&lsquo\;Freedom\, Norms and Democracy"&nbsp\;on&nbsp\;the&nbsp\;<strong>28th&nbsp\;</strong>and&nbsp\;<strong>29th</strong>&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;<strong>January&nbsp\;</strong>(more details below).&nbsp\;All&nbsp\;students&nbsp\;interested in&nbsp\;post-graduate study&nbsp\;at the intersection between Philosophy\, Politics and Economics&nbsp\;are&nbsp\;warmly&nbsp\;invited to a series of lectures which will&nbsp\;give participants a clear idea of&nbsp\;what can&nbsp\;be&nbsp\;expected&nbsp\;from such a course.&nbsp\;The Winter School&nbsp\;is open&nbsp\;both&nbsp\;to&nbsp\;students specifically interested in the MSc&nbsp\;in Philosophy\, Politics and Economics (PPE)&nbsp\;at Groningen&nbsp\;(https://www.rug.nl/filosofie/ppe/master/)\,&nbsp\;and to&nbsp\;those considering&nbsp\;study in&nbsp\;related fields.</p>\n<p>As is true for applicants for the MSc\, the Winter School welcomes students with a wide range of backgrounds* and career interests.**</p>\n<p>The Faculty of Philosophy is&nbsp\;also&nbsp\;offering up to three &euro\;200&nbsp\;<strong>scholarships</strong>&nbsp\;for promising students enrolling in the Winter School who express serious interest in later applying for a Master&rsquo\;s programme in Groningen. Additionally\, participants who are then accepted into a Master&rsquo\;s programme at the Faculty of Philosophy for the upcoming year (2019-2020) will have their registration fee for the Winter School reimbursed.</p>\n<p>All details and instructions for applying are here:&nbsp\;https://www.rug.nl/education/summer-winter-schools/winter_schools/winter-schools-2018-2019/freedom_norms_democracy/</p>\n\n<p>* Applicants eligible for the PPE course include not only those with&nbsp\;Bachelor&rsquo\;s degrees in&nbsp\;philosophy\, political science&nbsp\;or&nbsp\;economics\,&nbsp\;but also those&nbsp\;with degrees in other neighbouring&nbsp\;fields\, such as international relations\, history\, sociology\, or psychology\, provided they demonstrate a sufficiently close fit with PPE or one of its subdisciplines.</p>\n<p>**The&nbsp\;PPE programme&nbsp\;aims&nbsp\;to equip&nbsp\;students for&nbsp\;work in&nbsp\;a diverse range of&nbsp\;organizations\,&nbsp\;including&nbsp\;national or international public administrations\, governmental and non‐governmental organizations\, private businesses and banks\, journalism\, think tanks and research institutions.</p>
