DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Call For Papers</strong> &nbsp\; Kentucky Philosophical Association Annual Meeting &nbsp\; <strong>Deadline for all calls: January 15\, 2019 (midnight CST)</strong> &nbsp\; In conjunction with the Department of Philosophy at Transylvania University Friday &amp\; Saturday\, March 22 &amp\; 23\, 2019 Transylvania University Lexington\, Kentucky &nbsp\; Keynote Address &ldquo\;Microaggressions in Medicine&rdquo\; Dr. Lauren Freeman <em>University of Louisville</em></p>\n<p><br><strong>CALL FOR PAPERS&mdash\;General Meeting&mdash\;Saturday\, March 23</strong><br>Submission requirements: Submissions on any philosophical topic are welcome. Abstracts are acceptable\, but preference will be given to completed papers. Papers should not exceed 3\,000 words and should be prepared for blind review. Include the following information as a cover page in a separate file: Title of paper\, 150-word abstract\, author&rsquo\;s name\, institutional affiliation\, and email address\, indicate whether you are willing to serve as a commentator should your paper NOT be accepted\, and\, finally\, any A/V needs that are necessary should your paper be accepted.<br><br><strong>CALL FOR PAPERS&mdash\;Scholar&rsquo\;s Workshop&mdash\;Friday\, March 22</strong><br>Submission requirements: Scholars at all levels should submit rough\, working drafts of original scholarship on any topic that they are preparing for potential journal or chapter publication. We are especially interested in drafts regarding pedagogy at all levels of education. The drafts will be shared with attendees prior to the event and each participant will be given time to present their work and get feedback from other participants. Space is limited and participation in the general meeting is not a requirement though presenters will be able to attend the general meeting. Please submit: Title of the project\, 150-word abstract\, author&rsquo\;s name\, institutional affiliation\, email\, and indicate the status of project (i.e. first draft\, a draft under revision\, etc.)<br><br>Please send questions and submissions for the main program and the workshop to Clint Jones at Clint.Jones@uwsp.edu with &lsquo\;KPA SUBMISSION GENERAL&rsquo\; or &lsquo\;KPA SUBMISSION WORKSHOP&rsquo\; appearing in the subject line. Submissions to both are permissible but must be different entries.<br><br><strong>CALL FOR PAPERS&mdash\;Student Essay Contest</strong><br>Submissions: follow requirements listed above for submissions to the general meeting.<br><br>&bull\; Eligibility: This contest is open to any undergraduate student who attends a college or university in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Each contestant may submit one essay entry only.<br><br>&bull\; Awards: The first-place winner will receive $100 and be asked to read the paper at the KPA annual meeting.
