DESCRIPTION:<p>There will be a Presidential Address by Brian Scholl\, and an invited session with the winner of the 2012 Stanton Prize (TBA). Invited\n Speakers and Symposiasts for the 2012 meeting include: Michael Bishop\, \nMatthew Botvinick\, Tamar Gendler\, Alvin Goldman\, Terry Horgan\, Hugo \nMercier\, and Daphna Shohamy.</p>\n<p>Symposia topics will include: Rationality and Epistemology\, and Models of Automatic and Controlled Cognition.</p>\n<p><strong>Submissions should be tailored to one of the following three presentation types:</strong></p>\n<ol>\n<li>40 Minute Contributed Sessions with Commentators: &nbsp\;Suitable for longer\n papers featuring empirical research or sustained arguments on complex \nissues. Philosophical/theoretical papers must not exceed a length of \n3\,500 words and should&nbsp\;be accompanied by an abstract (of less than 300 \nwords). &nbsp\;Psychological/empirical submissions may be made in the form of \nabstracts of 1000 words.&nbsp\;</li>\n<li> 15 Minute "Cutting Edge" \nResearch Presentations: Suitable for brief presentations of exciting new\n empirical research or works in progress. For this category\, an abstract\n of not more than 1\,500 words should be&nbsp\;submitted.</li>\n<li> Poster only presentations: Best for those who prefer the poster \npresentation format\, and can communicate the substance and significance \nof their work in a short abstract. For this category\, an abstract of not\n more&nbsp\;than 750 words should be submitted.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>Submssions \nin the first two categories that are not accepted for oral presentation \nwill automatically be considered for presentation as posters\, unless the\n author stipulates otherwise.</p>\n<p>Papers and abstracts \nmust be written in a format appropriate for anonymous review and employ \ngender-neutral language.
