DESCRIPTION:<p>This will be a major international\, two-day workshop on the nature and significance&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;temporal well-being (i.e.\, what it is to be well off at or during&nbsp\;<em>a particular time</em>--for example\, a moment\, a day\, a week\, a year\, or a whole chapter&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;one&rsquo\;s life).&nbsp\;The impetus for the workshop is Ben Bramble&rsquo\;s recent monograph\,&nbsp\;<em>The Passing&nbsp\;of&nbsp\;Temporal Well-Being</em>&nbsp\;(2018\, Routledge)\, which argues that only lifetime well-being has intrinsic normative significance\, and&nbsp\;therefore\, that there is no such thing as temporal well-being.<br><br><strong>Keynote Speakers</strong><br>Ben Bradley (Syracuse University)<br>Connie&nbsp\;Rosati&nbsp\;(University of Arizona)<br><br><strong>Other Confirmed Speakers Include</strong><br>Ben Bramble (University of Liverpool)<br>Anca Gheaus (Universitat Pompeu Fabra)<br>Antti Kauppinen (University of&nbsp\;Helsinki)<br>Teru Thomas (University of Oxford)<br>Tatjana&nbsp\;Vi&scaron\;ak&nbsp\;(Goethe University of Frankfurt)<br><br>Call for Papers<br>Two further speakers will be selected based on&nbsp\;abstracts. Please send 1-2 page abstracts on the theme of the workshop&nbsp\;to&nbsp\;bramble@liv.ac.uk&nbsp\;by Feb 1st for consideration.
