DESCRIPTION:<p>THOMAS HOBBES DAY&nbsp\; ~ Saturday 1st June 2019</p>\n<p>The Thomas Hobbes of Malmesbury Society is hosting a THOMAS HOBBES DAY on Saturday 1st June:</p>\n<p>A Symposium on the theme of <strong>Thomas Hobbes\, Machiavelli and Italy</strong> will be held at The Old Bell Hotel\, Malmesbury. Our speakers are world leaders in Hobbes studies: Professor Quentin Skinner\, this country&rsquo\;s leading Hobbes expert\, Dr. Raffaella Santi from the University of Urbino in Italy and\, Dr. Luc Foisneau who wrote his doctorate on Hobbes and is Director at the The National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Paris.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Time: 10am to 5pm</p>\n<p>Tickets: &pound\;22.50&nbsp\; (Student tickets available only on EventBrite at &pound\;10)</p>\n<p>Followed by an evening concert of 17th century English and Italian baroque music performed by a young trio from the ensemble <em>Music for Awhile </em>under the Artistic Directorship of Professor Margaret Faultless in the Julia and Hans Rausing Building (formerly the Moravian Church)</p>\n<p>Time: 7:30pm - 10pm</p>\n<p>Tickets: &pound\;15</p>\n<p>Individual and combined tickets (&pound\;32.50) are available from <strong>The Workbox</strong>\, Malmesbury High Street or on-line at <strong>hobbes.eventbrite.com&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>
