The Philosophy and Borders working group aims to bring together researchers in the fields of ethics and political theory on the topic of borders and migration. This includes researchers working on topics related to nation-states\, nationalism\, citizenship\, territory\, immigration\, and forced migration. In the future\, we hope to meet termly to share work in progress and hear from invited guest speakers. This first meeting will serve as an introduction to the project.
\nWe would like to invite work-in-progress presentations for our inaugural meeting. We particularly encourage applications from early career researchers and graduate students. Presentations will be 25 minutes long\, with 20 minutes for questions and feedback.
\nIf you would like to speak\, please send an abstract of no longer than 500 words to rebecca.buxton@sjc.ox.ac.uk. If you would like to attend the workshop as an observer\, please email to register your interest. The event will include a keynote speaker in the evening.
\nCFP Deadline: May 1st 2019
\nSpeakers Notified: May 10th 2019
\nUnfortunately we are not currently supported by a funding body. We therefore cannot assist with travel or accommodation fees for speakers. We hope to remedy this for workshops and meetings in the future.
