SUBMISSIONS:

We are accepting papers for presentation at Virginia Tech's 16th annual graduate student conference in philosophy. We invite current graduate students to submit papers that philosophically engage with topics concerning the philosophy of technology\, broadly construed. Submissions may be from any philosophical sub-field\, and may address issues in these sub-fields which overlap with technology. These areas include\, but are not limited to: philosophy of science\, epistemology\, social and political philosophy\, philosophy of mind\, artificial intelligence\, engineering\, or aesthetics. Possible topics of interest may include but are not limited to the following:

Submission Guidelines

  1. Papers should be prepared for anonymous review and submitted in .docx\, .doc\, or .pdf format to vt.gradphilclub@gmail.com

  2. We are willing to accept full papers\, or outlines/abstract with the full paper due shortly before the conference. If you choose to submit an abstract\, we request that the abstract be 750-1\,000 words.

  3. Submissions may be up to 5\,000 words in length
    4. \n
  4. Please submit a separate cover sheet that includes your name\, contact information\, institutional affiliation\, keywords and relevant area(s) of research\, and a short abstract of approximately 300 words
    5. \n

We especially encourage submissions from underrepresented areas of Philosophy of Technology and from members of groups historically underrepresented in philosophy.

Conference participants will be given the opportunity to have their work published in a special issue of Social Epistemology Review and Reply Collective (https://social-epistemology.com/).
