DESCRIPTION:<p>This special workshop on the nature and significance of Postcolonial African Philosophy is primarirly motivated by two recent publications. The first\,&nbsp\;<em>Ezumezu: A System of Logic for African Philosophy and Studies</em> (Springer 2019) by Jonathan O. Chimakonam PhD (Senior Lecturer\, University of Calabar\, Nigeria)\, articulates a novel system of logic known as 'Ezumezu' in African philosophy as a distinct tradition of academic philosophy. The second\, <em>Paulin Hountondji &ndash\; African Philosophy as Critical Universalism</em> (Palgrave Macmillan 2019) by Franziska D&uuml\;bgen PhD (Professor of Philosophy\, University of M&uuml\;nster\, Germany) and Stefan Skupien PhD (Postdoctoral Researcher\, WZB Berlin Social Science Center\, Germany) is a critical and systematic study of the works of Paulin Hountondji - one of the most influential authors in African philosophy.
