DESCRIPTION:<p>Synthese has changed their 'Special Issues' to 'Topical Collections'\, which have the advantage that papers can be published when they are ready\, and not only when the whole collection is completed. This is a call for papers in the Topical Collection on <strong>Conditionals: Truth Conditions\, Probability\, and Causality</strong>.</p>\n<p>Guest Editors: Jiji Zhang (Lingnan University)\, Alan H&aacute\;jek (Australian National University)\, and Chin-mu Yang (National Taiwan University)</p>\n<p>Description: The study of conditionals remains an active area of pursuit\, both for its own sake and for its crucial role in theorizing about other important subject matters\, such as causality and decision making. This Topical Collection aims to collect the latest advances in the work on conditionals\, with special attention to the continuing debates about truth conditions (if any) of conditionals\, to the interaction between conditionals and probability\, and to the relationship between theories of conditionals and models of causality.</p>\n<p>Appropriate Topics for Submission include\, among others:</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; semantics and logics for conditionals\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; interaction of conditionals and modals\; &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; counterfactual skepticism\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; triviality results regarding credences of conditionals\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; conditional theories of causation and/or causal theories of conditionals\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; probabilistic causal models and probabilities of (counterfactual) conditionals\;</p>\n<p>&middot\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; conditionals in decision theory</p>\n<p>Submission:&nbsp\;The deadline for submissions is <u>December 12\, 2019</u>.<br> <br> Manuscripts should be&nbsp\;submitted online at <a href="http://www.editorialmanager.com/synt">http://www.editorialmanager.com/synt</a>&nbsp\;: after logging in to the system\,&nbsp\;please select the&nbsp\;option &ldquo\;S.I.
