DESCRIPTION:<p>We are now welcoming presentation proposals for an inaugural <em>Philosophy of Technology Conference</em>. The 2020 theme is infrastructure. For instance\, proposals might connect with:</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; infrastructure and <strong>environmental crisis</strong></p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; ethics of <strong>water</strong> and <strong>food</strong> infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>environmental systems</strong> infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>disability</strong> infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>healthcare </strong>infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; waste in <strong>energy</strong> infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; infrastructure of <strong>affordable housing</strong></p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; infrastructure of <strong>commerce</strong> and <strong>trade</strong></p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>digital</strong> and <strong>news</strong> infrastructures</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>mass media</strong> and <strong>social media</strong> infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; the infrastructures of <strong>political</strong><strong>grass-roots organizing</strong></p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>automated decision-making</strong> infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; infrastructure as a <strong>human right</strong></p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; infrastructure and <strong>race</strong>\, <strong>class</strong>\, and <strong>inequality</strong></p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>urban versus rural </strong>infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; <strong>political corruption<em> </em></strong>and infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; infrastructure as <strong>coordinated action</strong></p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; methods of calculating the <strong>costs and benefits </strong>of infrastructure</p>\n<p>-&nbsp\;&nbsp\; infrastructure <strong>law</strong> and <strong>regulation</strong></p>\n<p>Interdisciplinary approaches are welcome. Professionals in related fields are encouraged to submit. Proposals with multiple presenters\, for example panels\, are welcome. We also invite proposals from post-secondary students.</p>\n<p>Please submit the following to <strong>phi.tech.conference@gmail.com</strong> no later than&nbsp\;<strong>Sunday 17 November 2019</strong>:</p>\n<p>1.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; An <strong>anonymous abstract</strong> of approximately 300-500 words. The conference schedule will be set up with sessions of either 30 minutes or 60 minutes. So please indicate with the abstract whether it is intended to be the basis of a 30-minute session or a 60-minute session.</p>\n<p>2.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; A separate <strong>cover page</strong> indicating the title of the proposal\, a list of all authors and their affiliated institutions and positions\, and a working contact email and phone number. If the primary author is an undergraduate student\, please also include the name of a faculty sponsor and their institution.</p>\n<p>Decisions will be announced on or before <strong>Sunday 1 December 2019</strong>.
