DESCRIPTION:<p>***DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JANUARY 2ND***</p>\n<p>The Kent State University Graduate Department is pleased to announce its 27th Annual Philosophy Graduate Student Conference in Remembrance of May 4th\, 1970. The conference will take place at Kent State University in Kent\, Ohio\, on March 7\, 2020.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;We are excited to have Dr. David Cortright (University of Notre Dame) as our keynote speaker this year.</p>\n<p>Papers on any philosophical topic are welcome\, but\, given that this year's conference marks 50 years since the Kent State Massacre\, special preference will be given to papers engaging with topics related to the events of May 4th\, 1970. Topics may include\, but are not limited to\, civil disobedience\, social/political philosophy\, philosophy of war\, and critical theory.</p>\n<p>Local transportation and limited overnight accommodations with Kent State graduate students offered (available accommodations will be allocated first-come\, first-served)</p>\n<p>Buffet lunch\, including vegetarian options\, will be provided free of charge for all attendees.</p>\n<p>The conference is free and open to the public.</p>
