Virtue signalling has come in for a lot of stick recently. It allegedly subverts the primary \;function of moral discourse  \;and has bad effects on how we form moral judgments. I argue that virtue signalling just is a primary function of morality and plays a virtuous role in helping us to come to justified moral beliefs.
