DESCRIPTION:<p>The thirty-seventh annual Midsouth Philosophy Conference is scheduled<br>for Friday afternoon and Saturday\, February 15-16\, at Rhodes College<br>in Memphis.&nbsp\;Papers in any area are welcome.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Papers must not exceed a length of&nbsp\;<strong>3000 words</strong>. On the first page of your paper\, include the following eleven items:</p>\n<p>(1) word count -&nbsp\;<strong>3000 words maximum</strong>!<br>(2) author's name<br>(3) academic status (professor\, unaffiliated\, graduate student)<br>(4) higest earned degree (PhD\, MA\, BA)&nbsp\;<br>(5) institutional affiliation (if any)<br>(6) mailing address<br>(7) email address<br>(8) telephone number<br>(9) the paper's title<br>(10) and an abstract -&nbsp\;<strong>100 words maximum</strong>!<br>(11) will you need a smart classroom to present your paper?</p>\n<p><em>Submissions which do not include all eleven items will not be considered.</em>&nbsp\;No more than one submission by the same author will be considered.</p>\n<p>Submit&nbsp\;your paper to&nbsp\;<a target="_blank">https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=mspc2013</a><br>Title your paper like this: YourLastName_YourFirstName -- examples:<br>Hegel_Georg.doc<br>Locke_John.rtf<br>Russell_Bertrand.pdf</p>\n<p>Papers must be submitted by&nbsp\;<strong>January 4</strong>. Papers will be reviewed by a committee. Notification of acceptance will be made via email in January. Submissions whose authors cannot be contacted through email will be rejected.</p>\n<p>Each paper will have a commentator. Persons whose papers are accepted are expected to serve as commentators if asked. Others interested in commenting should send a note to&nbsp\;<a href="mailto:midsouth@lclark.edu">midsouth@lclark.edu</a>&nbsp\;by January 4 of availability and areas of interest\; graduate students who are not yet ABD are especially encourged to volunteer.</p>\n<p>Further information about the conference:<br><br>There will be a $60 registration fee\, $40 for graduate students\,<br>payable by cash or check at the conference (but not by credit or debit<br>card).</p>\n<p>The conference will bein with the keynote address at 1:30 Friday<br>afternoon. &nbsp\;The conference will conclude at 5:20 Saturday afternoon.</p>\n<p><br>Due to the size of the conference\, we will not be able to accommodate<br>special scheduling requests. &nbsp\;You should submit a paper only if you<br>can attend the entire conference.<br><br>Thomas Nenon has reserved rooms for Thursday (2/14) through Saturday<br>(2/16) nights at the Comfort Inn on 100 North Front Street. &nbsp\;Call<br>901-526-0583&nbsp\;and identify yourself as a participant in the Midsouth<br>Philosophy Conference by February 1 in order to ensure availability<br>and to receive the conference rate.<br><br>The airport shuttle goes to the Comfort Inn for about $15\,<br>http://www.tenncoexpress.com<br>taxis for about $30.<br><br>http://www.rhodes.edu/about/22757.asp<br>has travel directions to Rhodes College.<br><br>http://www.rhodes.edu/campusmap/<br>has a map of the campus.<br><br>http://www.rhodes.edu/campussafety/13120.asp<br>has a map of campus parking.</p>
