DESCRIPTION:<p>Call for abstracts: Philosophy of Race</p>\n<p>3-4 April 2020</p>\n<p>The University of Pennsylvania chapter of MAP (Minorities and Philosophy) is pleased to announce our fifth annual philosophy conference:&nbsp\;<em>MAP-Penn: Philosophy of Race</em>. In keeping with the aims of both MAP International and MAP-Penn\, previous iterations of this conference have focused on Non-western philosophies\, Global Feminisms\, and Inclusive Pedagogies and Methodologies.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>For this year&rsquo\;s conference\, we are soliciting anonymized abstracts of 500-750 words on any aspect of Philosophy of Race. This includes\, but is not limited to\, notions of race and ethnicity in philosophy of science\, in the history of philosophy\, in one&rsquo\;s personal experiences as a philosopher\, in canon (re)formation\, and in teaching practices.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>We will also have commentators-at-large from departments working in fields related to philosophy of race.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Please send abstracts to aforbes@sas.upenn.edu with subject line &lsquo\;MAP Conference.&rsquo\;</p>\n<p>Keynotes include:</p>\n<p>Quayshawn Spencer\, University of Pennsylvania</p>\n<p>Mickaella Perina\, University of Massachusetts Boston&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Robin Zheng\, Yale-NUS</p>
