DESCRIPTION:<p>The Philosophy Graduate Student Association of Marquette University is pleased to invite submission of papers or abstracts for their 2020 graduate philosophy conference to be held on 3-4 April 2020. </p>\n\n<p>The theme of this year&rsquo\;s conference is death. We invite papers from any field of philosophy (e.g. ethics\, epistemology\, metaphysics\, phenomenology\, biopolitics &amp\; ethics\, philosophy of mind\, Afro-pessimism\, philosophy of law\, etc.) addressing various issues surrounding death (e.g. what is death? Is death bad/evil? How does our understanding of death shape our understanding of life and <em>vice versa</em>? Is there life after death? Is immortality desirable? Can a dead person be harmed? How has death been understood throughout the history of philosophy?).</p>\n\n<p>Please submit abstracts of no more than 500 words\, prepared for blind review\, and sent as a PDF to <a href="mailto:marquettepgsa@gmail.com">marquettepgsa@gmail.com</a>by January 15th\, 2020. Please include the following in the body of your email: your name\, paper title\, email address\, and institutional affiliation. Please format the subject heading of your email as follows: [your name] MUGPC 20 Submission&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; </p>\n\n<p>If your paper is accepted\, you will have 20-25 minutes for presentation.
