DESCRIPTION:
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Philosophy will host PEER 2021\, a conference on the role of experience in cognition. How does perception guide us to knowledge of a mind-independent reality? If perceptual experiences are the basis of empirical reasoning\, how are we to understand the rational contribution of such experiences?&nbsp\;The aim of the conference is to promote a conversation between proponents of different conceptions of experience and of its role in cognition. Participants will be expected to read ahead the principal contributions\, which will be made available by late October. Conference sessions will be devoted mostly to discussion.
\n
Note: The conference was originally scheduled for December\, 2020 and has now been moved to December of 2021. The planned program will be kept the same.
