The &lsquo\;Paternalism\, Health\, and Public Policy&rsquo\; project (funded by the Wellcome Trust) is pleased to announce its inaugural workshop\, on the theme of &lsquo\;Paternalism and Public Health&rsquo\;. The workshop is co-hosted with the UK Faculty of Public Health and will be held on the 22ndand 23rdof September 2020 in London.
\nThe workshop will address overarching questions and methodological approaches. One important issue concerns the relationship between public health ethics &ndash\; which focuses on populations and the &lsquo\;common good&rsquo\; &ndash\; and bioethics more generally &ndash\; which typically evaluates interactions between health-workers and particular individuals.

\nThe workshop will also feature a roundtable discussion with public health practitioners to explore the practical and policy implications of research in this area. \;
\nOne additional presentation slot at the workshop will be allocated\, via an open call for papers\, to a graduate student or early career researcher (defined as within 5 years of viva at the date of the workshop). \;
